Steigenberger Hotel

During the 19th century, Hamburg became the most important port in Europe. In order to store huge quantities of goods, an extensive warehouse district (known as the »Speicherstadt«) was built with buildings that were designed to maintain cool interior temperatures without additional ventilation. Today many of these historic structures have been converted to accommodate modern offices, restaurants and events.

SITUATION

In 1992, the 234-room Steigenberger Hotel opened on Fleetinsel, in the middle of the warehouse district. The project was the first joint venture involving Crow Holdings and the Trigon Group.

Hanseatic and cosmopolitan: This is how the Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg presents itself to its guests. Behind the elegant redbrick facade, visitors will discover luxury and total relaxation. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of such attractions as the fish market, the Binnenalster, the historic town hall and a wide range of attractive shopping facilities. The main railway station is one kilometer away, and the Messe Hamburg exhibition grounds are only two kilometers from the hotel.
